The Chinese have been using bamboo for paper production for two thousand years. In Tunisia, bamboo is used for making furniture, especially the garden furniture. Bamboo is used to make kitchen utensils, decorative items, building materials, sofas, chairs, tables, photo frames, mirrors, home accessories such as baskets, chests, tables, chairs and beds. Bamboo is imported from East Asia. The bamboo undergoes various stages of relaxation before it can be used for the manufacture of furniture, which requires significant manual effort. The artisans insist on the strength of bamboo furniture, but the prices are high compared to classic wooden furniture. Despite the beauty and nobility of this profession, the number of craftsmen decreases, the raw material is difficult to obtain and few young people are attracted to the profession.Type
