Mjahed Alia, one of the great female voices of the Morrocan music, comes from the city of Tetouan, in northern Morocco. Her name tops the list of women artists who have marked the history of women's orchestras, and have influenced the traditional musical scene. Alia Mjahed entered the Conservatory of Tetouan to give her love of music a professional dimension, before becoming a teacher herself at the conservatory. But her love for art and song have caused her to neglect her education. Her determination and continuous quest to develop her musical skills led her to move to Rabat where she could make a fresh start and where she became famous with songs like "Ennar El Hamra" (the red fire).Type
