Abstract

The series is devoted to the oral and written Algerian cultural heritage, handed down from generation to another and preserved by individuals in the mosques and Zaouias of the country. Ain Sefra is equidistant from the town of Bechar, Mecheria and a significant number of ksour. Ksar Touit, once a center of cultural influence, holds many manuscripts preserved among the residents and in the library of the old mosque. Interviews with Sheikh Khlifi Lakhdar, poet and chronicler of the city of Ain-Sefra, Imam Tayeb Rahou, about the content of manuscripts kept in the library of the mosque of Touit and the origin of the ksar"s name.
